This is a very important match for both teams, as the winner will qualify for the LAN finals whilst the loser will not receive any sort of prize. This match is very one sided, and rightfully so.
The current lineup for France shown on HLTV is looking extremely powerful. Three players from EnvyUs (Happy, NBK and apEX) and two players from Titan (shox and SmithZz) will be representing France in this match. All of these players have played together in the past, and individually, these players are some of the best players that France has produced. In the run up to this match, France had been put through the BO1 stage like all the other countries. France went undefeated and they won against Netherlands, Hungary, Serbia, Spain and Ukraine.
I don’t really know any of the players that are playing for Iceland here. We rarely see one player from Iceland play in a team regularly, let alone a whole team of them. In the BO1 stage, Iceland had a couple of hiccups but still managed to make it this far. They had won matches against Belarus and Bosnia, but have also fallen to Belgium, Norway and Sweden. None of these players representing Iceland are exceptionally good in my opinion, so they shouldn’t have too much of a chance to win here.
France will win this fairly easily, but if they decide to ‘troll’ or have a muck about, the map rounds could get a bit close for comfort. Still, the aim of France alone is enough to shut Iceland down. Odds will most likely end up at 95-5 or something ridiculous like that, so unless you’re putting a massive amount of value on France, there is a high chance that you may not even get anything back.
My odds for this match: France 85:15 Iceland
