Today we’re celebrating our 1st birthday as CSGOHUB! It was actually last week but we missed it!
In one year we’ve released a whopping 5,352 predictions for CSGOHUB!
CSGOHUB was a reformation of csgobetting.guru, a site which had run since November 2014. We thought we’d go down memory lane with this post…
December 2014 – CSGOBETTING.GURU
Para launched this site as a hobby project after starting a job as a web designer. The site aimed to be a place for him to write predictions as a way of giving back to the community. There wasn’t any membership, just a team of keen predictors. The site became a huge success in just a few months with a large amount of visitors. With the increase in traffic, the costs for servers and times started to rise with it.
June 2015 – Breaking point
The site was costing more and more each month to keep running but still only earning a small amount from advertising. With a full-time job elsewhere Para couldn’t be expanded to include all the new ideas. Whilst the predictors worked for small contributions the longterm future of the site required a consistent stream of income from somewhere.
July 2015 – Teaming up for something new
In July 2015 Para teamed up with an existing premium betting group called PsychoLulz to merge into csgobetting.guru under a new name, CSGOHUB. Lex was also brought in to lead the development of the site into a true ‘Hub’ for CSGO betting with a new wealth of tools and features such as multiple predictors per match, odds trackers, match statistics, team & player stats as well as a new membership structure to try to ensure the longterm future of the site.
Switching csgobetting.guru to point at csgohub.gg meant the site rose to rapid success under a great reception from new and old users. Despite the new subscription requirements the site kept true to it’s csgobetting.guru roots and kept a number of match predictions free to view each day.
November 2016 – PARALEX
CSGOHUB was no longer a hobby. With membership numbers climbing and a more complex and busier site to manage, the time demands became even greater. Trying to juggle two full-time jobs wasn’t working so in November 2016 Para and Lex found backing to secure the start of a new web development company named ‘PARALEX Media’ as a way of being able to devote fulltime attention to CSGOHUB.
January 2016 – Bet Tracking & Tipsters
The CSGO community is a wealth of knowledgeable bettors and even the most experienced bettors were subscribing to CSGOHUB as a way of validating their own ideas on where their bet should go. To encourage these users to share their tips, we introduced ‘Community Tipsters’ to help bring in the widest range of information for users to use when placing their bet. This was one of the biggest updates in the year and is still vastly popular today.
August 2016 – 1 year old and back to where we started… Free predictions!
Circling right back round to the beginning August saw a collection of updates to take us back to where it all began, free match predictions! Whilst we know we can’t run the website without your subscription support, we still want to give back to the community. So, we’ve introduced a new update to ensure all match predictions from Predictors or Tipsters are free to view 30 minutes before the start of the match (don’t worry, premium members still get predictions straight away as well as a host of other features).
Thank you to all of our subscribers who have been with us over the year, we’re always keen to update/change to suit you, let us know any suggestions or feedback in the forum.
Here’s to the next year! Huzzahh!
FYI: if you want to sign up for a full year, we’re running a discounted price of 14 keys for the year if you sign now. This is for a limited time only.

When you first start out you’ll be tempted to try to bet as frequently as possible, don’t. Wait for matches with good odds where you or the predictors know the teams. Never force yourself to bet, bet on matches that you are confident in. You may go days or weeks without placing a bet, you’re not in a rush, wait for bets you are comfortable and confident in and profit should follow.
If there’s any uncertainty, don’t place a bet. Save your skins for another day. There will be plenty of other matches that you can bet on.
Betting is always risky, that’s unavoidable. But staying inside a ‘safe zone’ will help cover you off from some really silly bets. When starting out with a low inventory, large bets placed on matches with 80%+ odds aren’t going to return much in general (on lounge, even less due to the inconsistent returns) but you’re still risking a large amount of your inventory for very little.
Equally, odds below 30% sound very, very attractive with huge returns possible. But if you don’t know the teams or all the details, it’s very possible the team doesn’t stand any chance. If you think there might be a chance, reduce the size of the stake or consider an ICB.
Always bet with a percentage of your inventory. Think, what happens if you lose an ‘All in’ bet, do you stop betting for the rest of your life, or just get your wallet out and go again? You may think there’s no risk, however there is always risk. If you’re placing a high bet, stick to an absolute maximum of 20% of your betting inventory.
Always leave enough to bet another day.
If you’re feeling angry or frustrated, your judgement get’s very cloudy. You’ll make a stupid bet and lose. If you just lost a big bet or are on a losing streak, instead of trying to force a bet, you should take a step back, calm down and just take a break, come back refreshed with a fresh mindset.
Betting blind is a purely relying on luck, if the underdog odds are 30%, that definitely doesn’t mean the team has a 30% chance of winning. It just means 30% of the betting community chose that team. A late roster change could mean there’s zero chance for the team to win. Check in with our predictions to help give you some more background on the game.
Use the lounge odds tracker to predict the final odds as the start of the match get’s closer. If the odds are increasing/decreasing for the team you intend to bet on the return may not outweigh the risk anymore. A huge significant switch of odds at the last moment may mean that something shady is going on, mostly in very low tier games, or a sudden announcement, E.g standin may have occurred.
Bookies will put up their odds based on their own expectations, as the bets start coming in they'll tweak the odds to ensure it's still profitable for them. That early stage is key to getting an edge on the bookies.
As soon as you feel like you have to bet again to recoup loses, you’ll feel compelled to make bigger bets with bigger risks. This often starts an endless cycle driving your losses further and further. Instead, after a big loss, take a day off from betting (or a week if was really big). .Keep to the proper bet sizing based on the risk of the match no matter what. You are not in a race to win it back, just take it easy.
Do not blindly follow betting site odds and think that they are correct to the true odds. If a betting site has ‘Team A’ as a heavy favorite, it does not always mean that it’s an easy win for ‘Team A’.
SK beat Na’Vi… Na’Vi beat E-Frag. That means SK can beat E-Frag now, right? No.
There are many factors which contribute to the team winning a match, these factors such as player performance, map selection, strategy and tactics which may not apply to other teams.
