Extension for the new Chinese players

Operation Hydra has been extended until November 13, making it the longest-running event by the CS:GO community and developers. A blog post published by Valve announced that they extended the event for the new Chinese players who had recently joined and played the game to be able to participate in Operation Hydra and its game modes. On top of that, they also reduced the original price of the operation from $5.99 to $2.99 in hopes of attracting more players to take part in the game mode.

Which game mode will stay?

In addition to the blog post by Valve, “The most played Operation game modes during the final month of the operation will be added to CS:GO… the most played Operation maps of the final month in Competitive Matchmaking and Casual will replace the least played maps in those modes.”

Noting that the most popular game modes of Operation Hydra will be added to the main game of CS:GO. Basing on the current popular modes right now, we can say that Wingman, Weapons Expert, and War Games have a chance to be added into the game. But, Agency and Austria are the leading game modes that can hold its ground forever.

Particularly, players can have more time–about two more months–to earn Operation Stars that can be used to upgrade their Operation coin profile badges. Also, new Chinese players can try out the grind of playing game modes different from the usual CS:GO games. These maps may vary from the three past operation maps: Agency, Black Gold, and Insertion. Although new maps will make their debut such as Austria, Lite, Shipped, and Thrill to the community.

The past CS:GO operation that was run was Operation Wildfire back in July 2016, which was run for 5 months.
