Our Top-5 CS:GO Teams Of 2017 - Tipify

Before getting into the top-5 teams, we would just like to tell you how we ended up with this list. Well, our basis for the results largely involves the team’s performance in 36 tournaments this year and incurred winnings of at least $100,000. Without further ado, here are our top 5 CS:GO teams of 2017.

5) Astralis

The Danish team went through the entire year without making any roster changes, in which they are the only team on this list to do so. With that, Astralis seemed to find the perfect chemistry to still be one of the top teams. Astralis won 3 tournaments, the ELEAGUE Major’s top prize of $500,000, the IEM Katowice’s $104,000, and in June the ELEAGUE Clash for Cash of $250,000. Finally, Astralis made the Finals of the BLAST Pro Series in Copenhagen but fell short against SK because they lost AWPer, dev1ce due to health issues before the tourney.

4) G2 Esports

Their major roster revamp was back in February enabled G2 to soar to heights never before seen by the franchise. Players shox and bodyy recruited NBK-, apEX, and kennyS to join G2, which allowed them to win 3 tournaments this year. G2 won DreamHack Open, ESL Pro League Season 5, and Dreamhack Masters that earned them a total of $375,000 in winnings.

3) Team Gambit

The CIS team brought its region its first championship at a major tournament after winning the PGL Major Krakow back in July. But after that momentous win, their past coach and in-game leader left the team and Gambit struggled. But after the addition of fitch, Gambit came out on top again after winning ROG Masters along with the prize of $117,500. Lastly, the team also won DreamHack Open Austin worth $50,000.

2) FaZe Clan

It was FaZe’s year this 2017 after loading up its lineup with NiKo, olofmeister, and GuardiaN. This helped the franchise get their first-ever championship at the SL i-League StarSeries Season 3. Also, the European team won 3 other tournaments this year, in which they won a whopping $500,000 at the ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2017, that went along with their wins at ESL One New York and ECS Season 4.

1) SK Gaming

One of the biggest CS:GO stories of this year was SK Gaming. The Brazilians went through a lot of roster changes this year as they couldn’t grab a single Major win. But SK Gaming won 8 tournaments instead and closed the year out with the best CS:GO rivalries of all time during the ESL Pro League Season 6 when they faced FaZe Clan to determine which team truly holds the number spotone team. But as we all know, SK finished the tournament with the win and ended the year as the best CS:GO team.
