Galaxy Battles II: Emerging Worlds will push through even though its Major Tournament status has been revoked. The tournament will still be played at The Philippine Arena, in Bulacan, Philippines, from January 19 to 21, 2018.
Top Dota 2 teams withdrew from competing in the event, reducing the number of attending teams from 16 to 8, as the tournament no longer offers the 1,500 Pro Circuit Points pool for the winning teams.
The eight remaining teams set to attend theGalaxy Battles include Infamous, OG, TNC Pro Team, Evil Geniuses, Team Spirit, paiN Gaming, VGJ.Thunder, and PG.Barracx. PG.Barracx qualified through a Wild Card Round against Skyville.
