FACEIT, the leading independent competitive gaming platform for online multiplayer games, will be hosting the next CS:GO Major at Wembley arena in London. The competition has a $1 million prize pool (£720,000) and will take place on September 20 and 23.

Chief Business Officer and Co-Founder of FACEIT Michele Attisani has shared his enthusiasm about the upcoming event, he said: “The community has been at the heart of everything we do at FACEIT, and we’re so grateful for the support of the players on our platform and those who’ve attended and watched ECS. We’re excited to create an amazing celebration of CS:GO to honor that commitment. We look forward to seeing everyone there in September.”

The event is the first Major to be held in the United Kingdom, with the previous ones occurring in Sweden, Poland, Germany, Romania and the United States. The most recent CS:GO Major was held in the US with 1.13 million fans joining the community to watch the final match. FACEIT is also the sixth company to run an event as massive as this, joining the industry giants DreamHack, ESL, MLG, ELEAGUE, and PGL. 10,000 fans will have the opportunity to see the best and most popular players in CS:GO competitions. Ticket sale opens to the public on April 1. Fans, players, and organizers expect that the venue will sell out. And if not lucky, others are expected to watch the matches online via streaming websites.

In addition to the Major event, FACEIT will run the Minor and online qualifiers for all regions. A total of 24 teams will be featured in the Major, followed by the expansion that was introduced by Valve succeeding the last year’s Major. Sixteen of those CS:GO teams were already chosen, while the next eight will come from the Minors’ champions around the world. Under the New Legends Stage, expect to watch exciting battles among Cloud 9, Faze, Natus Vincere, SK, mousesports, Quantum Bellator Fire, G2, and fnatic. The New Challengers Stage includes Gambit, Vega Squadron, Space Soldiers, BIG, Astralis, Liquid, North, and

There is currently no word on where or when the open qualifiers and Minors will be held. But, Attisani stated that the full format of the game will be revealed in the coming months and some issues that the past CS: GO Major events had will be tackled and addressed by the team.
