Esports News – The format and arena for the WESG World Finals happening on March 13-18 are all set. The WESG World Finals, to commence in Haikou, Hainan, China today, features a prize pool amounting to $1,500,000, while the tourney champion takes home a hefty $800,000 share from the pool. The teams this year have expanded from last year’s release– from 24 and has now grown to 32 competitors.
The tournament, facilitated by Alisport and Haikou Municipal People’s Government, will be held at the Haikou International Convention and Exhibition Center on the island region of Hainan, over the Qiongzhou Strait from China.
The 32 qualified CS:GO teams will play one best-of-one round-robin group stage with eight groups of four teams, with the best two of each team proceed to a second round-robin group stage. In the second round, teams compete in a best-of-two match and will vie for the top two spots in each group to qualify for the playoffs. Lastly, all CS:GO matches in the playoffs are in best-of-three.
