Esports News – Overwatch, a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game, has skyrocketed in revenue and popularity over the years since its official release in 2016. Owing to the fact that it’s a breath of fresh air in today’s esports trends, calling it popular might be an understatement. The game lets people see a new dimension of characters, graphics, and maps. But just how adaptive Overwatch is when it comes to meeting the gamers’ craze and expectations?
Revealing the dark past
Blizzard Entertainment has recently released the new updates for Overwatch Mission Archives, and the next big spring event you need to mark in your calendar schedule is Retribution, a limited-time event featuring the dark past of the game’s most ruthless heroes or the era before the fall of Overwatch. The overall theme of the game takes the players to Venice, Italy where they can command the agents of Blackwatch and battle against the terrorist organization Talon. One can choose to play Moira, Genji, McCree, or Reaper; and leap through the streets of Rialto, a new map exclusive for the event. Players also get another chance to dive back into the omnic insurrection as last year’s Uprising mission returns for another adventure.
Retribution went live last April 10th and will be available until April 30th. The update is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The size of the update is pretty big: 18GB for PC and over 20 GB for other console versions. Nevertheless, the new skins, a new map, archives loot boxes, dual game modes (Retribution and Uprising), and data layout improvement are surely worth it all.
Introducing new skins
New skins for Doomfist, Hanzo, and Sombra are waiting for the gamers. Fans of the three will surely enjoy the game more as picking a player’s outfit is one of the most enjoyable and satisfying things in any video game. Take note that the three heroes in the actual Retribution game mode don’t have skins updates.
The skins are titled “Talon Sombra,” and “Talon Doomfist,” and “Scion Hanzo”. For Sombra, the outfit shows off a black, white, and red color palette. Her hair will stay short as usual. Doomfist will also have the same shades as Sombra, but the most prominent feature is the red paint on his face. Balanced against the two, the lone wolf Hanzo finally pulled off his classy side with a suit and tie in black and blue.
