Esports News – Starladder’s StarSeries i-League has begun its fifth season as the first matches and qualifiers for North America, Europe, Asia, and CIS started last April 16. The entire event will run from April to June and has a lot of surprises waiting in store for players and fans.
The StarSeries i-League is considered as one of the biggest CS:GO tournaments in the world. This year, there will be 12 CS:GO teams competing per region—with 48 participating teams in total. The qualifiers for each stage is divided into two stages, but all will run for the entire month of May. The Group Stage Single or GSL will have a two-double elimination format and best-of-three (BO3) matches. 4 teams, together with 4 other invited teams, are qualified for the second qualifier stage. Afterward, only two from each group will advance to the playoffs.
The next challenge for the playoffs requires 4 invited teams and 4 winners from the group stage to compete in a single-elimination bracket and BO3 matches. The winners of the North American and CIS qualifiers will then be granted a spot in the LAN finals, and the Asian and European qualifiers will get two slots for each of their two leading teams. Accordingly, the top 2 teams that will emerge victorious from the 8 are qualified to the StarSeries i-League Season 5. They will participate in the grand finals for the title and $300,000 USD prize pool. The final matches, including the last playoffs and the grand finals, will transpire from June 2nd to 3rd in National Palace of Arts “Ukraina”.
The previous season’s winners were the legendary Mousesports, Faze Clan, and Ninjas in Pyjamas. Which team is next in line to the throne this season?
