Late Bloomers Dallas Fuel Excels in OWL Stage 4

Esports News – Dallas Fuel’s current track record in the Overwatch League (OWL) is far from splendid. The team had to endure three stages with low rankings, despite the inclusion of top players Timo “Taimou” Kettunen, Brandon “Seagull” Larned, and Hyeon “Effect” Hwang on their roster. The team surely won’t make it to the playoffs given these circumstances. Regardless, they have assured all spectators that they won’t be going home without a fight.
Dallas Fuel excels in Stage 4
The OWL’s final stage is now in its second week. Dallas Fuel currently holds a 3-1 record after recently defeating the following teams: Boston Uprising, Philadelphia Fusion, and Shanghai Dragons. It is, by far, the best start for the team in the entire OWL series. Let us dwell on the things that triggered the burning fire Dallas Fuel had been hiding for a long time:
The addition of Brigitte
Stage 4 of the OWL marked the introduction of a new character: Brigitte. She specializes in armory and healing using the following weapons and abilities in her cache: Rocket Flail, Repair Pack, Whip Shot, Barrier Shield, and Rally. Dallas Fuel found their new-found weapon through her, and it has been exceptionally well-fitting for the team’s Flex Pongphop “Mickie” Rattanasangchod.
The addition of new faces
Dallas Fuel placed 10th, 11th, and 11th again last stages. They were at the bottom rank for a long time. This week’s OWL stage 3 surprisingly lifted the team’s spirit with the addition of Benjamin “uNKOE” Chevasson, a former Support from the Los Angeles Valiant, and the hiring of a new coaching staff, Aaron “Aero” Atkins. Dallas Fuel found a new dynamic with the change in players and management, driving them to nail each and every match coming their way.
The biggest irony in the playoffs
Unfortunately, Dallas Fuel will not make it to the playoffs due to the team’s bad track record in the entire OWL. Mathematically speaking, they cannot reach the number of possible wins in a single stage to grab a spot in the top 6 teams and to qualify for the playoffs. Dallas has an overall record of 9-25 and with only have 6 games left to play, their losses outrank their wins. It seems like the effort is a little too late. But they are a team that Overwatch fans will look out for in the coming tournaments, that’s for sure.
