Two-Time MVP dev1ce Shares Astralis' Latest Standings - Tipify

Esports News – Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz is the recipient of ELEAGUE Premier CSGO 2018 MVP medal, a product of Astralis’ victory after defeating Team Liquid in the grand finals. This is dev1ce’s second MVP performance, pushing his name on top of the rating standings. He now holds the following record: 1.44 rating, +75 KDD, and 73.8% success rate.

Keeping up to date, dev1ce gives fans a few updates regarding Astralis’ players and victories, his personal battles, and their upcoming CSGO matches.

Astralis’ consistency

Astralis won their 4th title this year at the ELEAGUE CSGO Premier 2018, the others being Esports Championship Series Season 5, ESL Pro League Season 7, and DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018. Dev1ce is looking forward to their future performances with great optimism, but he didn’t deny that he doesn’t know what the future has in store for Astralis. He shared, “going into the player break right now we just want to relax because we’ve been pushing ourselves beyond some limits, I’d say. Obviously, I hope we can still be at the top, but it’s impossible to always be the best team and win all of the tournaments. We’re going to aim to at least be Top 3 and win the tournaments we go for.”

Strongest roster

After witnessing Astralis’ consistency, it is safe to say that the team has the strongest roster and line-up among other contenders. Despite their series of wins, dev1ce still finds it surprising that their current roster defeated all the opposing teams. “Honestly, looking back, when we brought Magisk into the team, I knew it could be really good, but not this good. I said it in an interview previously, this is the best lineup I’ve ever played in. It’s the strongest the core of dupreeh, Xyp9x, and I, have been in. I didn’t expect to get this good, this quickly, but we found a really great system that works for us.”

Personal obstacles

With his two MVP awards, it is safe to say that dev1ce is the best player of Astralis at the moment. But when asked if he thinks he’s in his best form, dev1ce admitted: “It was a really rough ending of the year, last year. I had some thoughts of “Can I still do this? Should I even consider this?” and so on, so it was really challenging. It has been really challenging on different levels than only Counter-Strike, but I think I have been playing the most consistent I have ever been. So yeah, I’d say I’m at my best, but I don’t feel like I can’t get better. I feel like I can improve my aim a lot, I think a lot of the things I win on are when I position myself correctly.”

Leading the ladder

Fans and critics alike now dubbed Astralis as the undisputed number one team. Their biggest CSGO rival, Natus Vincere, has a lot of catching up to do. When asked how he feels about this, dev1ce said: “I would say it’s a fair assessment to count us as #1 in the world. We still have a lot of series to play against Na`Vi. They got the upper hand the last time, but I still feel like we’re the best team in the world. I’m just really proud and I think everyone is really proud of what we’ve achieved. Last year we tried skipping Cologne going into the Major and it didn’t work out, this time we tried more often to be able to feel more energized at tournaments and it definitely paid off for us, being at full level at all the tournaments we played at.”
