3 Teams Advancing To FACEIT Major Quarterfinals - Tipify

Esports News – The FACEIT Major: London 2018 is the 13th Valve-sponsored Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Championship and the second Major of 2018. It welcomes over a million fans and viewers around the world to witness an intense battle for fame, title, trophy, and a $1,000,000 prize pool. As the tournament approaches, teams and players now lock up their spots. See which teams from the New Legends Stage get a chance to compete in the Major’s Quarterfinals.

New Legends Stage recap

Team Made In Brazil’s (MIBR) win over Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) in the last match of the New Legends Stage is the last piece of the puzzle we need to determine the Major Quarterfinals pairs competing in London. But let’s take a look at the detailed recap of the New Legends Stage to connect the dots:

The day five of the qualifiers had three teams locking up their spots in the New Champions Stage. The first match began with HellRaisers facing an intense battle against Fnatic before getting kicked off the series with a loss on Mirage from a 5-14 deficit. However, Kirill “ANGE1” Karasiow and other players got back on their feet as Dust2, the second map, approaches. HellRaisers entered the CT side before decimating Fnatic’s side 16-2 on Cache, securing the entire round with a title and a slot for the next match. This is the first time Fnatic and their top player Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson missed out a Major playoffs

The second match was between Faze Clan and G2 Esports, in which the former narrowly found their way into the New Champions Stage after finishing the game in an overtime. G2 put up a great fight on the second map, but the rest of the matches were led by Faze Clan’s Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer, so it was difficult for the opposing team to execute a comeback.

The last map saw MIBR defeating NiP in an overtime match. The first and second maps were won by both teams, so the third map, Train, was the determining round. In there, MIBR locked down a 10-5 half as Terrorists and secured victory with a 16-11 win over NiP.
