Esports News – The International 8 (TI8) and the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2017-18 season may either be considered as a success or disappointment for all qualifying teams. For Immortals and Newbee, it was admittedly a disappointing season as the teams released old players and introduced a completely new line-up, signaling a significant change and a complete overhaul for the DPC 2018-19 season.
North American team Immortals joined the Dota 2 competitive scene by signing former MVP Phoenix’s roster in September 2017. The team started their first season by qualifying to two Minors: AMD SAPPHIRE Dota PIT League Season 6 and PGL Open Bucharest 2017, but that’s where their achievements end. They failed to secure a slot in this year’s The International despite placing 4th in the NA qualifiers.
After a 2-year drought in Dota competitions, Immortals dissolved their entire roster consisting of the following players:
Team Newbee got a ticket to TI8, but they were eliminated in the first round of the lower brackets. The original roster of the team had been together for 2 years now and has managed to place 2nd at The International 7. But the team deemed it necessary to introduce a new set of players to compete for the DPC 2018-19 season, starting with The Kuala Lumpur Major Chinese Regional Qualifiers. The new set of Newbee players is as follows:
