Team Liquid Claims NALCS Title Twice In A Row - Tipify

Esports News – For the second time in a row, Team Liquid wins North America League of Legends Championship Series (NA LCS). This year’s victory came over Cloud9 in a 3-0 winning streak at the Oakland Oracle Arena. The winning team have secured their spot as the number one seed for the competition and will head straight into the World Championships this October.

Tournament recap

The moment Team Liquid entered the finals, they instantly took a commanding lead over Cloud9 with aggressive moves. But their opponent managed a short comeback courtesy of the team’s Bot Laner, ADC Zachary “Sneaky”. A clash at the Baron pit gave the lead back to Liquid, allowing them to shoot forward and pin down Cloud9’s defenses, closing down the game in just 35 minutes.

Match 2 once again highlighted Liquid’s aggressive game style, Jungler Jake “Xmithie” Puchero dismantled the opposing team’s junglers while allowing Top laner Jung “Impact” Eon-yeong to get ahead. Cloud9 wasn’t able to turn the tables this time when Liquid secured a lead with 6,000 gold at their disposal in just 20 minutes. It’s even shorter than the first match, and it was evident that Liquid had full control of every aspect of the game, including neutral objectives and team fights.

The third and final match allowed Cloud9 to start the game with two early dragons, securing their lead and building up more objectives to conquer. But when Liquid demonstrated superior and much more aggressive fighting skills led by AD carry and summer split MVP Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, Cloud9 fell behind and struggled to keep pace. It went on for nearly an hour, testing Liquid’s ability to maintain control under pressure while equally focusing on locking down the entire game.

Team Liquid will head to the World Championship together with 100 Thieves, the next best team with the highest championship points.
