Esports News – The second season of Cross Border Esport, an offline minor CSGO tournament, witnessed Danish team Tricked beating German team ALTERNATE aTTaX 2-1 in the grand final, securing the DKK 60,000 ($9,297.03) prize pool. The competition was held at the Broager Sparekasse Skansen in Sonderborg, with 32 teams from invites, DK Qualifiers, EU Qualifiers, EU Closed Qualifiers, Female Qualifiers, National Tour Romania, National Tour LAND, and National Tour Denmark.

Tournament recap

Tricked and ALTERNATE aTTaX hold one of the ultimate rivalries in the CSGO scene. Before facing each other in the finals, Tricked and Alternate moved past SuperJymy and Shark Esports in the semi-finals, and Nexus Gaming and PACT in the quarterfinals.

The first map, Inferno, saw Alternate executing a 9-1 lead on the Terrorist side. But Tricked, not letting the opponent secures an advantage over them, managed to win five rounds in a row. A slow start and weak tactics in the second half of the game, however, allowed Alternate to instantly hit map point and lock down the map in the 27th round.

Mirage, the second map, introduced a completely new direction for both teams. But it was brief, ending in a blink of an eye with Tricked winning the round. The winning team was in the lead for the entirety of the game’s first half, they only went into break when the score’s in 8-7. Alternate only scored one round before handling Tricked its first victory.

Alternate ran out of defenses when Tricked began attacking the T side in the final map—Train, taking 13 consecutive rounds into the break. Completely hopeless, Alternate tried to turn the tides and get back in the game but Tricked put an end to the round with a 3-0 run on the CT side.
