Cloud9 Signs Blue Buff As An Official Member - Tipify

Esports News – The Cloud9 League of Legends pro team announced a new addition to the team after signing Blue “Blue Buff” Sentinel to its roster, one of the most powerful entities in the game. Blue Bluff helped Cloud9 with their 3-0 victory over Afreeca Freecs in the quarterfinals of the LoL World Championship last weekend.

The organization tweeted out his official signing after the game. It contains the following: “Earlier today, Blue Buff had a huge performance against the Afreeca Freecs and helped turned the tide of the game with a kill onto Mowgli, their jungler. Blue Buff has already been a huge part of making North American history, and we can’t wait to see what it can bring to use in the future with Cloud9!”

Blue Buff is basically a big stone golem on Summoner’s Rift that grants the Crest of Insight buff every time a player slays it. Cloud9 conducted a short trial period for Blue Buff before using it against Afreeca Freecs and signing up as a permanent player. It showed impressive performances on big stages and complicated obstacles.

Blue Buff at Lol World Championship: Recap

The 2018 League of Legends World Championship playoffs continued with Cloud9’s most recent series against Afreeca Freecs. You can re-watch Game 2 to see Blue Buff’s introduction.

The aggressive battle in the second game of the teams’ quarterfinal series started at the 30-minute mark. Both teams were shown scrapping in the top-side jungle. Cloud9 followed Afreeca Freecs’ Lee “Mowgli” Jae-ha into his own jungle. Mowgli had to use Xin Zhao’s Audacious Charge to escape over the wall and run. This strategy, however, led to Blue Buff turning his attention to Mowgli, attacking him in one swift motion and transferring the kill over to Cloud9. This particular kill earned Blue Buff the nickname “C9 Golem”.

Cloud9 continued forward to take the game away from Afreeca Freecs and led the series 2-0. They have beaten the opponent once again in the third game after establishing control over the map.

After this quarterfinals match, Cloud9 will advance to the Semifinals in a series against Fnatic taking place on October 28th. This will serve as another opportunity for Cloud9 to showcase Blue Buff again.
