X6tence Galaxy Wins DreamHack Winter Qualifier - Tipify

Esports News – DreamHack Winter, the organization’s final CSGO event for 2018, concluded with x6tence Galaxy bagging the European Closed Qualifier spot over Syman in a 2-1 grand final victory. The new champion is a Swedish team founded in 2018 as a branch out CSGO representative from Spanish esports organization x6tence. They were most notable for participating in the Nordic Championship Season 4 and ECS Season 6 – European Challenger Cup.

Tournament recap

Throughout the qualifier, Syman impressively defeated Vitality, ex-Space Soldiers, and Ago. X6tence Galaxy, on the other side of the tournament, went past LDLC and Fragsters in a three-map series. This was due to Tim “nawwk” Jonasson brilliant individual performances in both matches.

The first map, Train (13-16), saw André “BARBARR” Möller’s and his teammates take the lead in the series with a hard-fought victory. It was Syman’s first map pick so the losing team had all the advantage in the early rounds before X6tence’s Nicolas “Plopski” Gonzales Zamora used a 30-bomb to close the map.

The next map was picked by X6tence after removing Cache off the list. In Mirage (19-16), Syman bloomed in the late rounds to lock down the map as they managed to come back from a 5-15 deficit with the help of Sanzhar “neaLaN” Ishkakov.

The conclusion of the series all went down to Inferno (13-16), the decider match after Syman and X6tence removed Overpass and Dust2 respectively. Starting the game with a slow-burn team fight, Syman went into the break with a narrow one-round lead after overcoming a 3-6 deficit. The CIS team started the second half of the game to earn more points and further added a tally to their lead, but all of a sudden their momentum was broken when x6tence Galaxy put an end to the game in the 29th round.
