Esports News – The DreamLeague Season 10 Minor is over as Tigers takes the trophy, but the fun doesn’t end there. DreamHack immediately announced that the next DreamLeague event will be a Major tournament under the 2018-19 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season.
From Major to Minor
The next DreamLeague event, now at season 11, will culminate at Annexet Arena in Stockholm, Sweden next year, March 14 to 24. Sixteen teams from North America, South America, Europe, CIS, China, and Southeast Asia will compete for the lion’s share of the $1,000,000 prize pool and 15,000 DPC points. It will be a 10-day event for all the competing teams, but the last three days in the playoffs are open for the live audience. Considering the timeline, the date of the event suggests that DreamLeague Season 11 is the third Dota 2 Major for the season. The second Major takes place from January 17 to 27, but the title of the tournament is still undisclosed.
Tickets are available at the end of the month with prices starting at $9 USD for a one-day pass and $165 USD for a premium experience package. You can find reservation details and other announcements on DreamHack’s website.
Current team standings for the next Majors
The current team standings of the Dota Pro Circuit 2018-19 participants was heavily affected by DreamLeague Season 10’s results where Tigers took first place, followed by Natus Vincere, Royal Never Give Up and Infamous. Team Liquid withdrew from the tournament and was replaced by Team Lithium, but the replacement team was signed by Vega Squadron last October 28.
Given this tally and ranking, the conclusion of the 2018-19 Dota Pro Circuit will see all teams with the highest points receiving a direct invite to The International 2019 in Shanghai. Those who don’t make the cut will have to qualify for the 2019 Dota 2 International Championships via the Regional Qualifiers.
