Esports News – NRG esports took over CS_Summit 3 by defeating Optic Gaming in the grand finals with a 3-1 victory (default 1-0, Nuke 14-16, Overpass 16-8, Mirage 16-6). The winning team’s top player, Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte bagged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award by HLTV and Betway.
The tournament started on Nuke and was welcomed by NRG’s Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov finding all five headshots with the USP-S in the pistol to get his team the victory in the first round. Minutes after, however, Optic Gaming’s Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer and René “cajunb” Borg struck back quickly to take a 3-1 lead. NRG took back the lead when its two players clutched out a 1v3 to end half the game with a single round deficit.
Optic Gaming won the pistol round and even got a steady lead of 3-0, but their anti-ecos took its toll in the end and forced them to eco after losing just one round. They stole the pistol in the following round because of René “cajunb” Borg and made the score 13-7. They’ve closed out the game after NRG’s failed attempt to take the lead with Cerq’s 1v4 clutch.
On Overpass, Optic took an early 5-0 lead but NRG got back quickly to finish the T-half 8-7 down. After a series of more rounds in favor of both teams, NRG held B in the pistol and snowballed the tally into a 14-8 lead even without a bomb plant. Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte and Cerq helped his team win the map after a perfect CT side.
Mirage saw NRG esports’ flawless strategies on the CT side all throughout the game. Even if Optic reached a 3-1 lead early on, NRG constantly improved their defensive side and kill marks. The game finished with a 16-5 score after Optic lost all its money in the bank, giving NRG the CS_Summit 3 title.

Just weeks before CS_Summit3, Brehze earned the Exceptionally Valuable Player (EVP) title at ESL One New York and StarSeries i-League Season 6. He is, by far, the best player in NRG’s entire roster since it was established and the only player to boast a 1.19 rating on LAN in the last three months.
