Toronto Defiant Signs Envy and Neko For OWL Season 2

Esports News – Toronto Defiant, one of the expansion teams in the Overwatch League Season 2, announced new player signings: Flex tank and Captain Kang-Jae “Envy” Lee and Support Se-Hyeon “Neko” Park. Both players previously competed in the inaugural season under different teams, adding some veteran and experienced contributions to the new team.
Envy is a professional Overwatch player hailing from South Korea. He was a former player from Meta Bellum and he’s most notable for his performance at the Korean Contenders league where his team finished 3rd-4th. He also played the Flex position for the Los Angeles Valiant in Season 1 before being released in April, and for the Rhinos Gaming Wings from 2016-2017. His signature heroes include D.Va, Zarya, and Roadhog.
Neko is a South Korean player who previously played in the inaugural season and other minor Overwatch tournaments . He joins Toronto Defiant from Boston Uprising, with whom he played the entire regular season–finishing 5th-6th in the playoffs, 3rd in the overall regular season, and 4th-8th in the preseason. In 2017, he made his professional career debut under the team New core/NC Foxes. His signature heroes are Zenyatta, Ana, and Sombra.
Toronto Defiant’s preparation for Season 2
All Overwatch participants, be old or the new expansion teams, must have at least 8 players by December 1, 2018. The season 2 begins on February 14, 2019. Toronto Defiant has yet to reveal their entire roster, but coach Beom-joon “Bishop” Lee hinted in a discussion with Sportsnet that they’ll have “multiple players” that they can swap in and out to adapt to any meta in the upcoming season. Just recently, rookie players Seung-hyun “Ivy” Lee and Do-hyung “Stellar” Lee got included in the line-up.
Toronto Defiant already revealed their team name, branding, and logo at their recently held unveiling party. Alongside the roster, Chris Overholt will act as the CEO and President of the Organization, with Hausen “Jae” Won as the General Manager, Beom-joon “Bishop” Lee as the Head Coach, Yun-ho “Bubbly” Cho as the Assistant Coach, Dong-wook “Don” Kim as the Strategic Coach, and Dennis “Barroi” Martz as the analyst.
