Esports News – “For the first time in Dota history, Mumbai will welcome players, talent and fans for an entire weekend of Dota 2 action from April 19th to 21st live at ESL One Mumbai 2019!”
Dota 2 pro premier competitions head to India for the first time with ESL One Mumbai 2019. This would be the country’s first Dota 2 event, so sponsors and organizers are expected to conduct online and offline activities for fans and players participating.
Sponsors and venue
The tournament is sponsored by giant companies like Intel, Mercedes-Benz, DHL, NEED for Seat, and paysafecard. But the organization of the events and activities will be handled completely by ESL and NODWIN Gaming.
The esports organizer and production company ESL has pledged to contribute $1,000,000 for Dota 2 2019 events. This promises that their sponsored tournaments will be introduced to other parts of the world, hence the ESL One Mumbai 2019.
ESL partnered with NODWIN Gaming, India’s largest gaming solutions and esports company, to handle ESL One Mumbai 2019. The company has previously helped DreamHack enter into the Indian market by organizing the DreamHack Mumbai back in December 2018. This time around, the new partnership brings the competition to the NSCI Dome on April 19 to 21 to cater to over 8,000 fans.
Twelve Dota 2 teams from all over the world will compete for the lion’s share of the $300,000 prize pool. There will be 7 direct invites for teams with impressive DPC points, while the remaining representatives come from North America, Europe, CIS, China, SEA, and India ESL One qualifiers.
