Mineski, Newbee Shuffle Roster For The Next DPC Events - Tipify

Esports News – The 2018-2019 DPC season is halfway through, after issues regarding team shuffles, top-tier teams now begin to make roster changes and improvements. Starting the action are The International 7 runner-up Newbee and Dreamhack Mumbai Invitational winner Mineski. The two teams shuffle their players as Thiay “JT-” / “March” Jun Wen will now play for Newbee after his professional run with Mineski.

Mineski’s struggles

Mineski concluded the recent International with a disappointing 9-12th placement. Prior to the big event, they also failed to produce better results at the ESL One Birmingham 2018, MDL Changsha Major, and Epicenter XL. The team failed to accumulate sufficient DPC points to qualify for any big events last year.

Succeeding their 2018 run, the team said goodbye to solo middle Chai ‘Mushi’ Yee Fung, ending their 1-year professional run. Mineski then rounded out their next lineup with Swedish veteran support player Johan “pieliedie” Åström. Following the addition of a new face, Mineski announced that JT- / March will leave the team to play for Newbee.

Pieliedie makes his debut on the next set of DPC qualifiers, together with the new player replacing JT- / March. The replacement carry will be announced soon.

Mineski Roster:

  • Kam ‘NaNa/Moon’ Boon Seng
  • Damien ‘kpii’ Chok
  • Kim ‘Febby’ Yong-min
  • Johan ‘pieliedie’ Åström

Newbee’s top position

JT- / March immediately transferred to Newbee after leaving his former team, not wanting to wait any longer to compete for the next wave of DPC events. Like Mineski, Newbee had a disappointing run last year, but they are still known as one of the best Dota 2 teams in 2017. Mineski currently struggles to accumulate DPC points after failing to win any Major and Minor tournaments. This season gave them several roster changes, but none of them led to impressive results.

After the Kuala Lumpur Major qualifiers, Newbee removed Tang ‘CatYou’ Xiaolei and He ‘Inflame’ Yongzheng from their active roster. They’ve added new faces to the team in preparation for the Majors and Minors, but it seemed like Newbee is still struggling to find their balance. Hopefully, with JT- / March on board, the team will finally conclude the upcoming DreamLeague Season 11 Stockholm Major qualifiers with better results.

Newbee roster:

  • Xu ‘Moogy ‘ Han
  • Song ‘Sccc’ Chun
  • Thiay ‘March/JT’ Jun Wen
  • Zeng ‘Faith’ Hongda
  • Yan ‘Waixi’ Chao
