Team Secret Is ESL One Birmingham 2019 Champions - Tipify

Esports News – Team Secret concludes ESL One Birmingham 2019 with an unstoppable feat. The championship team defeated PSG.LGD in the lower bracket final to book their grand final spot against Evil Geniuses. In the end, Team Secret closed out the series with a 3-2 victory to win the title and the lion’s share of the $300,000 prize pool.

Tournament recap

In the grand finals, Team Secret and Evil Geniuses had a back-and-forth matchup, requiring five straight games to settle the winner. The teams alternated wins, but Team Secret somehow managed to come off the better.

The first game saw two teams executing aggressive tactics and strategies to outsmart one another. It took Team Secret 50 minutes to beat Evil Geniuses and its top player Sumail “Suma1L” Hassan on Templar Assassin. The combination of Nai “MidOne” Zheng’s Storm Spirit and Micha “Nisha” Jankowski’s Sven sealed the first game for Team Secret.

The second game mirrors the first match, but it saw Evil Geniuses take the early lead over Team Secret. The game finished off quickly, with Evil Geniuses concluding the round in under 36 minutes.

As a middle, determiner round, the third game gave us one of the most exciting team fights and game styles in the grand finals. Team Secret dominated the lanes to satisfy their objectives. The key player of their winning streak was Yazied “Yapzor” Jaradat’s excellent performance on Engima. Yapzoe caught three Evil Geniuses players on a Black Hole to win the game.

In the fourth game, Evil Geniuses picked the newly-added hero Mars and partnered him with Batrider. But this particular combination isn’t a threat to Team Secret. It was Evil Geniuses’ Suma1L and his Storm Spirit that gave them 32 kills to close out the game.

The fifth and last round settled the winner of the season. In here, Evil Geniuses once again picked Mars, with Spectre and Death Prophet in the back-up positions. Despite their good-looking trio, Team Secret scored first blood in just 33 seconds. The entire game was in the championship team’s favor. They easily took the lead, took out multiple Evil Geniuses players, and ended the game with ease.
