Esports News – Team Vitality has been winning major after major this season, which includes lifting the latest CS_Summit 4 trophy. Adding to that, just recently, the unstoppable team ran over Furia Esports to win the ECS Season 7 and its whopping $225,000 championship prize, marking the biggest victory in organization history of Esports Championship Series. The championship team concluded the tournament with a convincing 2-0 win in the grand finals.
Team Vitality is now considered as one of the best CS:GO teams today after defeating 7 professional teams in ECS Season 7. A total of 8 teams competed for the title and the lion’s share of the $500,000 prize pool, including powerhouse teams such as Ninjas in Pyjamas, Complexity, and Astralis. But, it was Team Vitality who reigned victorious in the end.
The grand finals saw Vitality and Furia Esports in shape, although they had to wait a while before starting the match due to early technical issues. Regardless, the two teams immediately started the battle on Inferno and had a back-to-back exchange in the first few rounds.
Furia clearly put up a fight and won the first three rounds of Inferno, but Vitality answered with seven round wins. The turning point of the game was executed by Cédric “RpK” Guipouy who showed impressive defense while taking four Furia players in a 2v4 teamfight. Furia didn’t recover for the rest of the game, allowing Vitality to effortlessly close the map.
The next map, Overpass, featured a strong opening from the winning team. It was evident that Vitality won’t let Furia get away with first blood kills this time as Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut executed a massive 25-kill to get the early lead. Zywoo took over the map singlehandedly, shutting down Furia every time they attack.
By half-time, Vitality turned the score to 12-3. The odds did not look good for Furia as the end is near and only clinging onto one round in the second half of the map. To finally conclude the tournament, Vitality closed out the map early and sealed their 16-4 victory over Furia.
