Esports News – League of Legends’ patch 9.17 is out today, and it brings new changes and improvements to your favorite champions and features. According to Riot Games, they seek to add more significant changes to the game until after patch 9.19. In the meantime, here are the highlights of the latest patch:
Major Changes for Aurelion Sol and Kayle
Out of all the champions, Aurelion Sol and Kayle received the most changes. Riot said that the two champions are weaker than the others, so they had to improve their features to help the champions become reliable picks.
Aurelion Sol is now more vulnerable to counterplay. His damage was reduced, and his ratio was changed from 0.18 to 0.35 (levels 1-18) ability power to 0.25 ability power. His movement speed was increased from 10% to 20%, allowing Riot to give him a new effect. Players can now use Aurelion Sol’s ‘Catch Me Catch You’ to let the champion travel faster than his star.
Players can now control Kayle easily. She’s still not as strong as the other champions, but users can help her ascend into a god. Her Arisen from is at level six, while her Aflame form is at level 11. To achieve her level transformation quickly, Kayle’s attack range was reduced from 550 to 525 units, and her bonus movement speed dropped to 8 percent.
Nerfs and buffs for Kalista and Qiyana
Kalista is getting some of her power back since the day Riot released her as a champion. Most of her features improved, so that average players can use her in a wide range of games. Kalista’s attack damage increased from 67 to 69. Her mana increased from 231.8 to 250, followed by her mana growth which increased from 25 to 45.
If Kalista received improvements, Qiyana received deductions. Riot though that Qiyana is stronger than she should be in the lane, a disadvantage to the opposing team. Her base damage was decreased from 70/105/140/175/210 to 60/95/130/165/200, and her Supreme Display of Talent was changed from 120/100/80 seconds to 120 seconds at all ranks.
Other minor adjustments
Other champions with minor changes include Galio, Leona, Lucian, Neeko, Pantheon, Ryze, and Zyra. Following the updates, Riot will release a handful of skins for other champions not included in patch 9.17. Elderwood Ahri, Elderwood Veigar, and Elderwood Nocturne are out today. Infernal Shen, Infernal Galio, and Infernal Varus will then be available on September 5, 2019.
