Russian Team ForZe Wins Dreamhack Open Winter 2019 - Tipify

Esports News – Russian team ForZe secured another trophy to add to their collection this year. Tricking Danish team Tricked into submission, ForZe won Dreamhack Open Winter 2019 at Elmia AB in Jönköping, Sweden. The series closed out 2-1, in favor of Russia.

Tournament recap

ForZe successfully get passed CR4ZY in the semi-finals before facing Tricked in the last match of the tournament. Tricked, on the other hand, eliminated GODSENT to secure a spot in the finals. ForZe and Tricked agreed to conclude the series on Inferno, Vertigo, and Train.

On Inferno, Tricked got the early advantage with their 5-0 lead on the CT side. Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen scored double-digit kills with his multi-frag rounds. ForZe exchanged kills with Bunzkji and weakened Tricked’s finances to find their footing, and they succeeded. The team earned a narrow 8-7 lead before moving on to the next half of the game where Bogdan “xsepower” Chernikov found his momentum. Xsepower wasted Tricked’s two bomb plants and exhausted their finances, giving Inferno to ForZe.

ForZe entered the second map, Vertigo, with the same momentum as the first map. Jenya “FL1T” Lebedev executed his quad kill in the opening round of their CT half, and Xsepower topped it up with another triple kill. However, Tricked responded with their newfound dynamics. Bubzkji earned a pistol round victory for the team with a USP-S triple kill. ForZe tried to crush the team’s CT economy to achieve a 12-12 score but Tricked didn’t yield. An overtime match gave Tricked its 16-14 victory.

Train then became the concluding map of the series. Tricked celebrated an early success with the first two rounds, but FL1T surprised them with a Krieg triple kill. ForZe stayed ahead of Tricked until the score went to 8-7. ForZe managed to execute an impressive CT pistol round to survive Tricked’s responses. A 2v2 situation concluded the series when Frederik “acoR” Gyldstrand failed to plant last-minute bombs.
