Team Secret Wins DreamLeague 13: Leipzig Major - Tipify

Esports News – Team Secret had its fair share of highs and lows in the previous Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) season, but the Dota 2 team bounced back this year to collect trophies and cement their name in the community. Team Secret recently won the DreamLeague Season 13: Leipzig Major by defeating Evil Geniuses 3-2 in the grand final.

Tournament recap

European-based Team Secret swept all their opponents at the beginning of the tournament. After beating Vici Gaming 2-1 and Chaos Esports Club 2-0, the group stage gave Secret an early advantage. They were able to maintain the team’s momentum in the next stage.

Secret entered the playoffs undefeated. They faced Fnatic in the first match, winning two out of three games. The team then moved on to the next stage and dominated a 2-0 match against Alliance. The upper bracket finals rematch against Vici Gaming was the penultimate match for the team, and they easily get past it by sweeping the match 2-0. Here, we saw Secret’s MATUMBAMAN and Yapzor combined powers in their respective heroes.

In the grand finals, Secret went against another team with an impressive track record, Evil Geniuses. That’s why it’s no wonder that the grand final match lasted 5 games. EG won the first and third game, both lasted for over 40 minutes. Secret lost their momentum in the first few games, but the scores and blows went back and forth after that.

Finally, Secret took control of the fourth and fifth games to seal their final scores for the tournament. They had the best hero picks in the fifth game, so they easily locked in multiple kills and deaths to win the championship.

DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major is Team Secret’s fifth first-place finish at a Valve-sponsored major tournament since their organization was established. The victory, however, is still not enough to lead the DPC rankings and seal a spot for The International 2020.
