Epic Esports Events To Host Epic Dota 2 League In CIS - Tipify

Esports News – Epic Esports Events, Eastern Europe and CIS’ biggest organizer of international esports events, announced a new non-DPC league for Dota 2. This February, Epic Dota 2 League will feature three divisions, generous prize pools, and the best Dota 2 teams in the CIS region.

Epic Dota 2 League Divisions

The entire Dota 2 tournament is divided into three divisions: Epic Origins League, Epic Challenger League, and Epic Prime League. Only CIS teams can register and compete at Epic Origins. The registration starts today, February 4, at 17:00 Moscow time. After the first division, the top two teams advance to the Challenger League where the tournament format is more complex and the prize pool is even bigger. Epic Esports Events will announce the full details of the Epic Prime League at a later date.

Epic Origins League

Epic Origins is the tournament’s first stop. Here, Dota 2 teams compete in 8 open qualifying matches under a single bracket. They all have to play using Dota 2’s 5v5 Captain Mode. The top two teams from each qualifying match proceeds to the group stage of the Origins where they have to compete in BO3 round-robin matches. After the group stage, the top four teams head to the playoffs with different placements. The 13th to 16th placed teams will be eliminated, while 11th and 12th place finishers have to prove themselves in the relegation matches, and the 5th to 10th placed teams retain their ranks until the next season.

Here’s the prize pool division for all participants in the first league:

1st place: $3,200
2nd place: $2,500
3rd place: $1,500
4th place: $1,000
5-10th places: $500
11-12th places: $400
