Esports News – The League Champions Korea (LCK) makes its grand comeback this month. 10 of the best LoL teams from the region will compete for the lion’s share of the USD 250,000 prize pool and the most coveted spot at League of Legends 2020 World Championship starting this week until August 23.

Participating teams will play in a series of matches in a best-of-three format. They will face each opponent twice in a span of 10 weeks. Both competitors in one match have a chance to go into battle at their preferred side selection once. Catch the matches on Tipify’s Live Stream page for unlimited access to action-packed LoL.

For this month, the teams start out the competition with League of Legends’ patch 10.12 update, which goes live in the Public Beta Environment (PBE) in the second week of matches.

The top three dominating teams from the LCK Summer Split advances to Worlds this year to compete against winning teams representing China, Europe, North America, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and SEA.

The event offerings of the 2020 edition are no different than the previous seasons of the LCK. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, live and offline matches are hosted without an audience. The LCK broadcast remains live from Wednesday to Sunday every week from June to August.

The LCK remains to be the biggest regional esports tournament in South Korea. The league produced some of the most powerful and legendary teams in competitive LoL. As of this year, the LCK has five Worlds winning runs. Three of the 10 competing teams this year have a chance to secure another victory for the region.
