LoL: Wild Rift Regional Open Beta Debuts In Asia - Tipify

Esports News – The most-awaited League of Legends: Wild Rift regional open beta is now available for play in Asia. Wild Rift was announced in October 2019 as a mobile-optimized game similar to the original LoL. Its debut coincides with the 11th anniversary of LoL’s release on PC.

The Riot Games development team announced the launch date of the game on Wild Rift’s official Twitter account. Looking back at the journey and addressing the new and existing players of LoL, the team said:

“When we started the crazy journey of League of Legends” Wild Rift’s development, we knew it would be tricky. Living up to the lofty expectations of existing League players across the world, while balancing the ever-evolving needs of the new ones, requires boldness, nuance, and importantly, deep focus on player experience.”

LoL: Wild Rift regional open beta is currently available to pre-registered players using Android and iOS devices in the following countries:

  • Indonesia
  • Japan
  • Malaysia
  • Philippines
  • Singapore
  • South Korea
  • Thailand
  • Brunei
  • Cambodia
  • Laos
  • Myanmar
  • Timor-Leste

Europe, America, and other parts of the world have to wait. Riot Games aims to start service in the following locations in early December (temporary date):

  • Europe
  • Middle East
  • North Africa
  • Oceania
  • Russia
  • Taiwan
  • Turkey
  • Vietnam

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Riot Games’ targeted American regions will have to wait until Spring 2021 after the beta kicks off in the European and Asian regions. According to Michael Chow, Riot Games’ executive producer, the team handling Wild Rift is “grounded and unable to travel” at the moment to oversee the release of the game on other servers.

About Wild Rift Open Beta

Wild Rift offers the skills-and-strategies of a 5v5 MOBA experience similar to League of Legends, but it is specifically crafted for mobiles and consoles. In the game, the Summoner’s Rift map is smaller and the match times only last for 15 minutes.

While Wild Rift’s champion pool is similar to the original LoL, many of the champions were given different abilities and mechanics to complement the joystick control scheme of the game’s supported consoles.

Here are the main objectives of the Wild Rift: choose lanes, take on the jungle, destroy turrets to reach the nexus, and destroy the enemy base.
