A list of recent matches this team has played, green indicates a win and red a loss. Blue is a draw/cancelled
Astralis were my favorites to win this even for quite a long time already, I still believe that either them or Na’Vi will end up winning it, they’ve been doing extremely well ever since gla1ve joined the team and finally managed to win a big event – ECS Season 2 Finals where they beat teams like SK Gaming, FaZe and OpTic, didn’t play a single match since then but still, Astralis have been looking very consistent with gla1ve so far.
GODSENT are expected to lose their key players and possibly disband the current roster after the major, apparently flusha and JW will go back to fnatic and play with dennis, olofmeister and KRiMZ, honestly I’m not surprised as both teams have been struggling when fnatic split, especially GODSENT who just couldn’t get on that tier 1 level, they did upset few top teams here and there, but kept losing most of the time, even against weak teams like PRIDE which is just unacceptable for a team that has flusha on their side.
So, Astralis are expected to win this match, although GODSENT could possibly upset them if they get a good map and some luck, I doubt it would happen but it’s definitely possible, either way, Astralis is my pick.
My odds for this match: Astralis 75:35 Godsent
Pretty tough one this one, but that’s the nature of the major. Astralis have emerged as the favorites to win the major for many people, including Thorin for example. That’s for a pretty good reason I feel, Astralis ever since adding Gla1ve have been on the rise and looking good form wise, and I see no real reason as to why that would not continue here. Astralis have a very good roster put together which if is performing to its full potential without a doubt can be the best in the world. The problem here is that they are playing versus Godsent who are so god damn unpredictable. I mean on paper they should be able to compete but their results recently, and overall in their entire existence as a team have been nothing less of shocking lol. I saw them just recently lose a BO3 to Pride, like come on, and you now want me to say they can take this from Astralis :/ Godsent have the players but they just do not perform and that’s pretty much how you sum them up. There is also rumors going around that there will be a Swedish shuffle once the major ends and S1mple said in his video that the Swedish teams haven’t really been scrimming anyone before the major which does not sound appealing at all. I do think Astralis will take this, however in a BO1 like this you do have to be careful. Hard to pinpoint the range of scoreline this will be due to it being Godsent at the end of the day. 60-40 Astralis
3% Astralis under 67% otherwise 2% GS / Round handicaps are tough here.
My odds = 60-40 Astralis
My risk = High
My odds for this match: Astralis 75:34 Godsent
Astralis come into this event as perhaps the best team in the world, and that is something we did not see coming just a few months ago. It would be typical astralis if they then came to this event and lost at it, and honestly this is a hard first game. Godsent killed the qualifier, and although always seem bad online, they are still in good form. They have a massive amount of experience in their roster with virtually all of them having won majors before. I do have to favour astralis here but this could be a close game. Thinking about maps, Train or Mirage I could see coming out, a small chance for D2, and I would favour astralis on all 3. LOW on them for me but this one will be close.
My odds for this match: Astralis 76:31 Godsent
