This is a tough cookie. Obviously Cloud9’s fifth Slemmy is still very new to the lineup and we are still yet to see them really tested, well they got tested vs LG where they lost 2-0, however 16:14 on Mirage. Overall Cloud9 recently have been looking not too bad at all, wins all around except vs Liquid and LG more recently like I said. They seem to be putting in a lot, a lot of work too with most of them averaging about 90 hours on CSGO the past two weeks which is impressive. Even Skadoodle is putting in mad work, somebody who is known to not like to play the game outside of practice time. Ska has in general been slacking quite a bit for some time now, he hasn’t been horrible, however he hasn’t consistently been the Skadoodle we have come to love, the one that would carry C9 in games and just go off, we haven’t seen that in some time, however he is still there and him going off can happen at any moment. I feel like given this is ECS, this is a game that C9 will take seriously and should win. If Shroud, Ska and Stewie are firing their shots, or even the first two, C9 can more than beat NRG, and past head to heads show that heavily, NRG historically has a very tough time against C9.
NRG are not a bad side, not at all, however I keep preaching that they need a roster change and I sure hope it does happen. Silent may be a cool guy or whatever, however he is not a good player, not fragging wise at least, something that the team relies him to do. Silent tends to either go big or go really small, like you see these really poor performances by him at times, and at times it just really does hurt the team, take the vs TSM performance, unacceptable really. I think that if they replaced him with like a NAF, they aren’t but lets just say a player like NAF, a good fragger, I think this team would immediately step up a few levels. Meanwhile, they can play well especially if Ptr, Just9n and Silent are firing on all cylinders, and Legija too of course then they can be a threat, they have shown to be a threat, however they can not do it on a consistent basis. Overall, 65-35 in favor of C9.
5% C9 under 72%, otherwise 2% NRG
My odds = 65-35 C9
My risk = High
My bet = 5% C9 under 72%, otherwise 2% NRG
My advice = Same as my bet
My odds for this match: Cloud9 65:35 NRG eSports
Is a hard to call game to be honest due to the fact that C9 virtually always come out on top when they play, but they are always really close games. NRG for sure have a chance if C9 are off their game a bit, and if the big players for NRG are firing. Another important player is Silent3m. He has been pretty off lately, and he will need to find some form tonight. Another player that can be inconsistent, is ptr. If they have ANY chance of taking this, he has to not only compete with skadoodle, but to beat him too. Overall, I feel like c9 should be heavily favoured here, as they are right now. But if NRG are below 30%, you can’t really risk betting on c9, who are still finding their feet after the recent roster change.
My odds for this match: Cloud9 70:30 NRG eSports
