Damn, this match is freaking hard. I’ve been sitting here for at least an hour thinking about this match, at the start, my initial thought was Virtus.pro since it’s train which used to be one of their best maps, but lately they’ve been struggling a bit on it, the come back against Gamers2 was very impressive, but that was just a single match and I still have flashbacks from WESG where Virtus.pro lost to Norway and Russia, different maps though.
Well, both teams are great on train, FaZe have been looking a bit more consistent on it lately, they did struggle against FlipSid3 but still managed to win in the end, not to mention their fantastic come back against Godsent, they were down 3-12 and went 13-1 on the second half. FaZe are 9-3 on train with two losses being against Astralis and one against Cloud9, they actually beat Virtus.pro quite easily back in August.
Virtus.pro are 7-5 on train, although some of their wins were way too close for comfort, the come back against G2 that I already mentioned, and also 19-15 against Epsilon on a lan event which is pretty embarassing as well, Virtus.pro also lost to SK Gaming, and 3 maps against Na’Vi, technically they are better than FaZe, but I don’t trust their inconsistency, it’s online after all.
Second map is overpass and once again I would go with FaZe, they are currently 4-0 on it against dignitas, HellRaisers and Gamers2 and always loved this map, while Virtus.pro are 3-1, they beat SK Gaming, NiP and dignitas, but lost their most recent match against Russia on WESG, all matches were very close as well.
Going with the same team twice again, this time it’s FaZe, I’m not confident at all, it’s literally 50/50, but I don’t trust VP online, and FaZe the maps are very good for FaZe.
My odds for this match: FaZe 50:50 VP
Two more hard to call games on Train and Overpass. Two good maps for both sides. FaZe never used to play Overpass, but have recently started playing it. They actually have a pretty good record on it and it could be in the future one of their best maps. Train is always hard to call. FaZe are honestly not the best CT side on it but if you don’t hold your spots on CT, they will run all over you. Pasha will most likely struggle at Ivy a lot due to FaZe just trying to take aim battles. I feel like Train will either be close or a stomp, with Overpass most likely going to be close. With FaZe underdogs, I will go 2x on them, but only really LOW.
My odds for this match: FaZe 45:55 VP
