With both teams making it to the semi-finals of Cologne, this should be a great match. This is also a BO5 match, so usually the team with the stronger map pool wins. Both teams have had two matches since getting back from the major, both of them being BO3s against Kinguin and Na’Vi. They actually had the same results too, 1-2 vs Na’vi and 2-0 vs Kinguin. However, TSM actually had Friberg to stand in for Karrigan, and Karrigan will be back to play for TSM this match. This is good for TSM, as playing with a substitute is usually a bit harder than playing with the original lineup.

So both teams have been playing decent since the major, and TSM have Karrigan back now. Since both teams have been pretty much identical with their recent matches, and this is a BO5, I think that the team with the better map pool should have the advantage. That team is Virtus Pro. Virtus Pro are strong on Train, Overpass, Mirage, Cache, you name it. Once known for being the worst tier one team on Dust2 are now much better at that map. Throw any map at Virtus Pro and they will give you a good fight on it. If this was a BO3 I would honestly pick TSM to win here, but Virtus Pro’s map pool is so strong that I have to pick them.

This should be a very close match and it is very likely that it goes to the fifth map, but I have to pick Virtus Pro here.  Good luck!

My odds for this match: VP 54:46 Team SoloMid

Hello, this will be a short prediction since I don’t have too much time tonight, but I’ll do my best. This match will be a grueling BO5 for PGL, and this is the consolation final for the EU division of the league. The winner of this match will go on to the grand finals, where they will face off against Na’vi in another BO5 but with some sort of disadvantage, since they are coming out of the lower bracket. Don’t quote me on this, but the outright winner of this league will get a cash prize as well as a spot at LAN which will be held in October.

Virtus Pro have been looking pretty fantastic lately. They made it to the semi finals of ESL One Cologne, where they were then knocked out by Fnatic, 1-2 with insanely close map scores. Since then, VP have played two matches (both online and for PGL). Their first match was against Na’vi, and VP lost 1-2. They picked up the first map, Train before dropping the second map (Inferno), 13-16 and then promptly losing on Overpass, which is a good map for Na’vi. The second match (and also eliminaition match), was against Kinguin just yesterday, and VP stomped them, winning 2-0 on Cache and Train and with relative ease.

VP have had a pretty good performance since coming home from the major, and they have really turned their bad performance into a decent performance, and if VP keep heading on that path, they could be a solid contender in the T1 CSGO professional scene.

Team SoloMid also reached the semi finals in ESL One Cologne, however they were knocked out too, falling to EnvyUs 1-2. Like VP, they have also had two matches since and they are sitting in the same boat as VP. Their first online match was against Kinguin, where TSM found success and won 2-0. Early this morning, TSM played their match against Na’vi, where they had a real opportunity to win but they did not. They started off by taking Mirage, 16-12 which put them in a good position to take the overall series, but Dust 2 proved my thoughts wrong, as Na’vi took the map and the map ended with TSM taking just 4 rounds in the entire map. The deciding map was Overpass, and by then, it was all but over for TSM. Overpass ended as a loss for TSM at 12-16 and the series ended at 1-2.

TSM is a pretty solid team, but we haven’t seen the best results from them pre-major. Since then, it looks like their performance is pretty average, and they’re on the same boat as VP, pretty much.

I personally think this is a 51-49, with the slightest advantage going to VP. Whenever two T1 teams face off against each other, the odds shouldn’t get too crazt. T1 teams are classed as T1 for a reason, and that reason is because they are the best in the world and any T1 team can beat the other on their good day. Not really sure who will take it here, as VP and TSM are pretty level teams, but I’ll most likely place a low bet on the underdog, with that being TSM at the moment. I really hope they show up in this match, but VP also have a very good chance at taking this too.

My odds for this match: VP 50:50 Team SoloMid
